A Hamas delegation has arrived in Cairo on Egypt’s request to resume talks and discussions on various issues related to the Palestinian people, Member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran said.
In a press release, Badran confirmed that the national reconciliation is a strategic option for Hamas, noting that the movement has agreed with the vast majority of the Palestinian factions on ending the internal rift on the basis of the 2011 and 2017 agreements.
Bardan added that Fatah insists on making unilateral decisions and isolating the other Palestinian factions.
He explained that Fatah had threatened to thwart all endeavors to restore the national unity adding that Fatah had previously foiled Egypt’s efforts in this regard.
The Hamas leader stressed that alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza is an urgent and national task, noting that there are efforts exerted at the political and field levels to re-enforce the 2014 ceasefire understandings on the basis of complete partnership with all segments of the Palestinian people.
