Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum stated the following:

The content of the Rami Alhamdullah-led government’s press release issued after the governmental meeting on October 9, 2018, especially the part on the Gaza Strip, is tantamount to fraud and lying the government adopts as a policy to delude the public opinion.

In the press release, the government strives to hide its substantial role in the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the Israeli occupation, as the former spares no effort to suffocate the people of Gaza and enjoys sadist feelings over the misery of the Gazans.

The Ramallah government’s rejection to accept initiatives geared towards easing the crippling siege in the coastal territory and its threats to the companies transferring the Qatar-donated fuel to the sole power plant in Gaza, while electricity outage in the strip has reached 20 hours daily, are a clear-cut evidence of its endeavors to fragment the steadfastness of the Palestinians when defying the occupation’s tyranny and schemes.

On the other hand, these positions approve that the Ramallah government is not qualified nationally or professionally to lead the Palestinian people and therefore the solution lies in the formation of a new national government that fulfils its national responsibilities towards all the Palestinians equally.
