Some neighboring countries have stepped forward to plug the gap left by the Palestinian Authority without imposing a political price in return, Hamas leader Easm al-Da’alis said. 

On his Twitter account, al-Da’alis wrote, “When the Palestinian Authority abdicated its responsibility towards the Palestinian people in Gaza and aggravated their suffering by imposing sanctions and threating to take more punitive measures against the coastal territory, the free people of the world took a step forward to mitigate the deteriorating situation in the coastal enclave.”  

Al-Da’alis noted that Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, and Morocco among others filled the vacuum without any political price in return adding that such a move came in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their cause. 

Three shipments of the Qatar-funded fuel were allowed entry to the Gaza Strip to supply the sole power plant in the enclave.

The truckload of the fuel entered the besieged territory on Tuesday afternoon via the Kerem Shalom  (Karm Abu Salem) border crossing as part of a deal reached during the New York Donors Conference that allows Qatar to fund part of the fuel needed for operating Gaza power plant.
