The shipment of Qatar-donated fuel for the sole power plant in Gaza is the first step to alleviate the plight of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Hamas spokesperson Abdeal Latif al-Qanoa.

In a tweet, al-Qanoa confirmed that this move would be followed by other actions regardless of the Palestinian Authority’s consent.

Al-Qanoa added that the PA officials’ statements in this regard reflected their failure to “strangle the Gaza Strip and pressure its residents.”

He called on the Palestinian people to participate in the Great March of Return next Friday to pressure the Israeli occupation to meet their legitimate demands and lift the 12-year siege on the coastal enclave.

The first shipment of the Qatar-funded fuel entered the strip on Tuesday afternoon via the Kerem Shalom (Karm Abu Salem) border crossing despite the PA’s objection to transferring fuel to the sole power station in Gaza.
