The visit of the Egyptian officials to the Gaza Strip and their meeting with Hamas are aimed to enhance the bilateral relations and the Egyptian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayyia stated.

He added that the visit of the Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel was not cancelled, but postponed due to the minister’s busy schedule.

The two sides discussed many issues including the Palestinian reconciliation and alleviating the Gaza’s plight, al-Hayya added.

He also noted that the delegation informed Hamas that the visit is not aimed to communicate any messages from the Israeli occupation.

The Hamas leader stressed that the Palestinians would continue their peaceful protests along the Gaza eastern borders until the Israeli occupation meets the protesters’ demands and lifts the blockade.

Al-Hayyia lauded the Egyptian endeavors to deescalate the tension in the Gaza Strip, remove the siege, and end the Gazans’ hardships.
