The Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem announced on Sunday that the Chief of the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate Gen. Abbas Kamal is going to visit the Gaza Strip very soon.  

In a press release, Qasem said, “General Abbas Kamal’s visit, which was scheduled for the last week and then postponed, will be made in the near future.”

Qasem noted that the Egyptian delegation, which visited Gaza last Thursday, informed Hamas that the preparations for Kamel’s visit to the coastal strip were underway. 

He confirmed that Hamas and Egypt adopt similar stances regarding the national reconciliation and the ceasefire agreement with the Israeli occupation.

Qasem reiterated that Hamas enormously supports Egypt’s efforts to cement a ceasefire with the Israeli occupation and end the Palestinian rift.

The high-profile Egyptian official was supposed to visit Gaza last Thursday, but his visit was delayed due to “technical reasons.”
