The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas confirmed that calm at the Gaza eastern borders would not be restored until the Israeli siege on Gaza is lifted.

In a press release, the Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said that the Palestinian people do not care whether Kaem Shalom and Erez crossings are opened or closed, as their goal is removing the Israeli siege on Gaza as a whole.

Qasem confirmed that the Palestinian people would not be deterred by the Israeli threats and would continue their peaceful, popular protests along Gaza’s eastern borders.

The Palestinian masses demand the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip for more than twelve years be unconditionally removed, Qasem concluded.
