The re-enforcement of the ceasefire with the Israeli occupation is being thoroughly considered within the framework of the Palestinian national consensus, Media Advisor of the Head of Hamas Political Bureau Taher al-Nunu stated.
In a press release, al-Nunu warned the Israeli occupation from committing any “stupid act” against the Gaza Strip, as the Palestinian resistance would defend their people against any Israeli aggression.
Regarding the Great March of Return, al-Nunu noted that the peaceful, popular protests will continue until the Palestinians’ demands are met.
Concerning the visits of the Egyptian officials to Gaza, he noted that Egypt has played a “crucial” role at different levels, including Palestinian domestic issues, as Egypt has exerted tremendous efforts to restore the internal Palestinian unity and lift the Israeli siege on Gaza.
As regards the outcomes of Hamas delegation’s visit to Cairo, al-Nunu said that the Palestinian people have reaped the fruits of the Hamas-Egypt improving relations, in a clear reference to Egypt’s decision to keep Rafah crossing open and its efforts to facilitate the Palestinians’ travel through Rafah crossing.
Al-Nunu hoped that Egypt’s endeavors pertaining to lifting the Israeli siege on Gaza and re-enforcement of the 2014-ceasefire understandings would succeed.
