Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri stated today that the Israeli ongoing escalation in al-Aqsa Mosque is a declaration of war.

The statement came as Israeli occupation forces violently broke into al-Aqsa Mosque, Muslims’ third holiest mosque, for the third day in a row and aggressively assaulted the peaceful Muslim sit-inners and worshipers.

Abu Zuhri called on the international community to rein in Israel before the situation explodes, conferming that the Palestinian people will never let the Israeli criminal scheme to impose a spatio-temporal division on Al-Aqsa Mosque pass.

The statement came as tension flared up for the third day in a row in the holy site after Israel’s minister of agriculture Uri Ariel and 50 Israeli fanatics stormed the Mosque under heavy police escort. Dozens of Palestinian worshippers, including women and minors, were injured or detained over the last 3 days, and the Qibli Mosque sustained serious damages due to the Israeli use of stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets in their attempt to disperse the worshippers.
