Hamas confirms that holding the Central Council with its current structure and outcomes takes place at the expense of the national consensus reached after the 2011 and 2017 agreements.

The outcomes of this meeting is a mere repetition of the prior ones held in March 2015 and January 2018, whose recommendations have remained unfulfilled so far.

On the other hand, Hamas deplores comparing a resistance movement that have been making great sacrifices with the Israeli occupation and the U.S. and threatening a Palestinian faction with further sanctions.

Hamas rejects the false accusations made by some parties that the movement hinders the reconciliation, despite all the concessions the movement has made and the flexibility it has showed.

However, Hamas' flexibility was met by radical and negative stances that had not help create an environment to achieve the reconciliation.

Since it believes in the national unity as a strategic option, Hamas announces its preparedness to take all required actions to achieve the reconciliation and enforce all agreement, above all the 2011 agreement.

If such efforts fail, we will form a national unity government that would supervise the legislative, presidential, and national council elections. 

In spite of the shocking statements issued on the sideline of the Central Council, Hamas supports the calls for implementing all steps needed to embrace the option of resistance, halting the security collaboration, scrapping the PA’s recognition of the Israeli occupation.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation continues to perpetrate crimes against the Palestinian people, judaize Jerusalem, separate the West Bank by expanding the Zionist settlements, eradicating the identity of the Palestinians living in the 1948 occupied territories, abolishing their rights through the “nation-state law”, and imposing a suffocating siege on Gaza, as well as shutting down UNRWA in order to deny millions of Palestinian refugees in the refugee camps and in diaspora their identity and national rights, the foremost among them is their right to return to their towns and villages from which they were forced out in 1948.
