The Hamas’ chief of international affairs Usamah Hamdan understated the Central Council meeting and its outcomes.
In a press release, Hamdan confirmed that the Council, which was held on Sunday, did not represent the Palestinian people nor did it reflect the national consensus.
Hamdan reiterated that the Council’s outcomes were “mere repetition of previous decisions which had not been implemented.”
Regarding the Council’s decision to halt security collaboration with the Israeli occupation, Hamdan noted that the Council took a similar one two years ago, but the Palestinian Authority has not stopped the security collaboration with the occupation so far.
“The Central Council appointed the PA President Mahmoud Abbas, whose legal term expired in 2009, to enforce the council’s decisions,” Hamdan added.
