Hamas leader Sami Abu Zohri considered the Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro’s plan to move his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem a “hostile act against the Palestinian people.”
On his Twitter account, Abu Zohri urged the president-elect to reverse his decision to move the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem, as this action violates the international laws and conventions.
“We reject the Brazilian president-elect’s decision to relocate the Brazilian embassy to Jerusalem,” Abu Zohri added.
In a tweet on Thursday, Bolsonaro said, “As previously stated during our campaign, we intend to transfer the Brazilian Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem.”
The U.S. President Donald Trump moved on May 14 his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, despite a widespread international condemnation of this decision.
