Resistance is our option to defend our people against the Israeli occupation, and the Palestinian people have consensually opted for that choice, head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniya said.

During the inauguration of the 32^nd International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, Haniya added that the security and political victory achieved by the Palestinian resistance during the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza would bring strategic gains for the Palestinian people.   

Haniya reiterated that the Palestinians are united behind the Palestinian resistance, as it is committed to defending its people against any Israeli aggression.

Regarding the Israeli attempts to judaize Jerusalem, Haniya stressed that such desperate attempts would not change the history of Jerusalem, nor would it obliterate the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city.      

Haniya confirmed that his movement is determined to boost its relations with the Arab and Islamic states and “all sides supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people and their right to resist the occupation.”

The top Hamas leader reaffirmed the necessity of unifying all efforts exerted to serve the Palestinian cause and place it back on top of the Arab and Islamic nations’ agenda.

Haniya hoped that the Arab and Islamic countries would stand up for Jerusalem adding that the US President Donald Trump has no authority to grant Jerusalem to the Israeli Occupation.
