A Hamas delegation has concluded meetings with Egyptian officials in Cairo, the movement’s spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said.

In a press release, Barhoum added that the delegation reiterated Hamas’ stance towards the reconciliation and its determination to restore national unity as a strategy to face the challenges surrounding the Palestinian cause.

Barhoum demonstrated that the delegation discussed with the Egyptian officials the movement’s vision, which is in line with the national consensus and based on partnership and the outcomes of the 2011 agreement.

He hoped that Fatah would accept the proposals agreed upon by all national and Islamic factions.

Barhoum noted that the Hamas delegation left Cairo on Saturday.

A delegation, led by Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Aruri, arrived in Cairo two days ago for discussions about several issues related to the Palestinian cause, including the internal reconciliation.
