Member of Hamas Political Bureau Mosa Abu Marzoq urged the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority to end its sanctions on Gaza.

In a tweet, Abu Marzoq slammed the PA officials for using the expression “simple measures” to euphemize the sanctions imposed by the PA on the impoverished territory.

Abu Marzoq noted that the PA had forced civil servants into early retirement, slashed workers’ salaries by up to 50 per cent and refused to pay for Gaza’s electricity bill, as part of its punitive measures against the besieged enclave.

“Regardless of what the PA calls its sanctions on Gaza, the West Bank-based government has to lift them,” Abu Marzoq concluded.
