Commenting on the arbitrary Israeli detention of the Mayor of Jerusalem Adnan Ghaith, along with some Palestinian figures, the member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran stated the following:

The arrest campaigns waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem are dedicated to undermine the Palestinian efforts to stop the 'illegal property transfer' to Israeli settlers. The detention of Palestinian icons also highlights that the Israeli aggression against the resdients of the holy city of Jerusalem has hit its peak.

Hamas denounces this fierce attack and stresses that it is inevitable to resist the occupation schemes targeting all the Palestinian people.

Amid these threats, the Palestinian people has to enhance their resistance with unity.  They have to adopt a joint political program that enhances the steadfastness of the Palestinians and fulfills their aspirations of peace and freedom.

Hamas stresses the necessity to endorse some laws in order to prevent 'illegal property transfer' to the Israeli settler.

Finally, we hail the Palestinian people in Jerusalem for their honorable efforts exerted to stop the 'illegal property transfer' to the Israeli occupation.
