The chief of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniya made a series of calls with Arab Foreign Ministers and world leaders to thwart the US endeavours to put forward a draft resolution condemning the Palestinian resistance, including Hamas. 

Hanyia called Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who briefed the top Hamas leader about the efforts of the Islamic and Arab nations to tackle the Trump administration’s move in the United Nations.

The Hamas chief phoned the officials in charge of Palestinian affairs in the Egyptian Intelligence and he was informed about the role played by Egypt to foil the US draft resolution.

The head of Hamas Politburo called the Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to inform his highness about the repercussions of the US draft resolution on the Palestinian national rights.

Meanwhile, Haniya sent letters to several world leaders, including the UN Secretary General António Guterres, calling on them to thwart the US efforts to delegitimize the Palestinian resistance and defend the UN-stipulated legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Haniya expressed the Palestinian dismay and anger over the US endeavours to promote the Israeli narrative regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, let alone the enormous financial and military aid, which motivates the Israeli occupation to perpetrate more crimes against the Palestinian people and to violate their human rights.

The head of Hamas Political Bureau called for denouncing the Israeli occupation for acting as a state above the law as it refuses to abide by the international resolutions condemning the occupation, colonial expansion, and targeting of civilians.

Haniya reiterated the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves against the ongoing Israeli aggression and resist the occupation with all means possible, including the armed resistance, as per the international law.

The top Hamas leader concluded his letters by calling on the international community to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine and support the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and independence.
