Hamas and Qatar offered to transfer the second cash grant to Gaza through the Palestinian Authority, member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran said.

In a press release, Badran noted that the PA refused the offer to transfer the Qatari funds into Gaza adding that the West Bank-based government insisted to keep the Palestinian people’s suffering subject to the internal rift.

The PA’s refusal to transfer the Qatari funds into Gaza prompted Egypt to seek other arrangements in cooperation with the international community and all concerned sides.

Badran confirmed that the latest Qatari cash infusion into Gaza has alleviated the aggravating humantarian situation in Gaza and mitigated the Palestinians’ suffering in the impoverished territory.

The Hamas leader concluded that Qatar pledged to reconstruct Gaza in the aftermath of the 2014 Israeli offensive on the besieged enclave.
