Hamas is exerting strenuous efforts, along with Egypt, to handle the points of contention in the Palestinian reconciliation, the movement’s politburo member Husam Badran said.
In a press release, Badran added that the reconciliation talks are facing serious challenges, but we will overcome them soon.
Badran noted that resuming the reconciliation meetings would minimize the conflicting viewpoints adopted by both sides
The Hamas leader stressed that reciprocated trust between Fatah and Hamas is important, and we adopt such type of thinking regardless of the outcomes of reconciliation meetings held in Egypt.
“I believe that we have many issues in common, above all the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli jails,” Badran added
Badran hailed the joint efforts exerted to foil the US draft resolution condemning the Palestinian resistance.
Regarding the endeavours to break the Gaza siege, Badran confirmed that his movement would spare no effort to lift the Israeli siege on the impoverished territory.
Badran pointed out that a notable breakthrough has been achieved recently in this regard through Qatar and Egypt’s mediation to alleviate the humantarian situation in Gaza.
“However, such efforts are not enough,” Badran concluded noting that his movement would use every means possible to break the 12-year Israeli siege on Gaza.
