Hamas denounced the statements made by the Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organisation's (PLO) Executive Committee, Saeb Erekat, in which he urged Qatar to halt humantarian aid to Gaza.

In a press release, Sami Abu Zohri said, “Erekat’s remakes in which he called for cutting Qatari humantarian aid to Gaza proves that the PA is determined to tighten the screw on the impoverished territory.”

In his latest visit to Doha, Erekat said that he had discussed with Qatari officials the reconciliation issue and the latest Qatari cash infusion to Gaza.

“We reiterate our rejection to provide aid to Gaza before achieving the national reconciliation,” Palestinian news outlets quoted Erekat.
