Hamas leader Sami Abu Zohri said that the ceasefire talks between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli Occupation are ongoing, noting that a “preliminary progress was made” in this regard.

In a press release, Abu Zohri added that the Great March of Return will continue unabated until the Palestinians’ demands are met.

Regarding the national reconciliation, Abu Zorhi said that restoring the national unity is “crucial at this stage.”

Abu Zohri noted that Hamas has made all concessions possible to help the reconciliation efforts succeed.

 “After signing the 2017 Reconciliation Agreement, we handed over the ministries and Gaza crossings to the Palestinian Authority,” Abu Zohri added, “However, the government refused to shoulder its responsibility towards its people, including paying the salaries of Gaza’s public servants and the operational budgets.” 

 “Due to Fatah’s lack of determination to end the Palestinian rift, no reconciliation agreement has been reached yet,” Abu Zohri noted. 

Hanyia’s foreign tour

Abu Zohri confirmed that the top Hamas leader Ismail Haniya will go on a foreign tour to several countries soon.

Regarding Russia’s invitation for Hamas to visit Moscow, Abu Zohri welcomed Russia’s move which aimed at “boosting the bilateral relations and discussing the latest developments of the Palestinian cause, including the internal situation.”

Abu Zohri concluded that Hanyia would visit many Arab and Islamic states, among other countries, but didn’t name any.
