The Central Elections Committee for Hamas Detainees announced the results of the Hamas leadership elections for the movement’s detainees in the Israeli jails.
In a press release, the elections committee said that the polls were held according to the organizational provisions of Hamas detainees and took place in all the Israeli jails.
The elections resulted in forming a new leadership for Hamas consisting of 15 members representing all the movement’s detainees held in the Israeli jails.
The chief of the new leadership for Hamas detainees is Mohammed Arman, and the members are Abbas al-Sayyed (deputy chief), Ahmed al-Qidra, Ashraf Zaghir, Salama Qattawi, Othman Bilal, Abdulnaser Isa, Muneer Mirei, Muammer Shahrur, Muath Bilal, and Lama Khater.
The term for the new leadership starts from next January and ends in January 2021.
