A Hamas delegation met with the Lebanese Prime Minister Sa’ad al-Hariri and discussed with him the latest developments of the Palestinian issue.

The delegation consisted of the member of Hamas Political Bureau Ezzt al-Rasheq, Hamas Representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka, and the Chief of Hamas’ Political Affairs in Lebanon Ahmed Abdel Hadi

During the visit, the Hamas officials highlighted several issues, including the Palestinian Authority’s decision to dissolve the elected Palestinian Legislative Council and to pull its staff from Rafah border crossing.

Regarding the PA’s decision to withdraw its officers from Rafah crossing, the Hamas officials stressed that the move would lead to isolating the Gaza Strip from Palestine, so it was in line with the “Deal of the Century”

The member of Hamas Political Bureau Ezzt al-Rasheq reiterated that the movement is keen on achieving national reconciliation, noting that Hamas  extended a hand of reconciliation and showed great flexibility with Egypt’s efforts in this regard.

Al-Rasheq added that the Palestinian people face serious threats due to the biased US policies towards the Israeli Occupation.

The Hamas delegation shed light on the situation of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon in addition to boosting the bilateral relations between the movement and Lebanon.

Concerning the Palestinians’ civil rights in Lebanon, the delegation discussed with al-Hariri granting the Palestinian refugees residing in Lebanon their rights, especially the right to work and right of ownership.

Meanwhile, the Hamas delegation met with senior Lebanese officials, including the General Director of the Lebanese General Security Abbas Ibrahim, the Director-General of the Internal Security Forces Emad Othman, the Head of Information Division Khalid Hamod, and the Director of the Lebanese Army Directorate of Intelligence.

All the meetings were intended to discuss the latest development concerning the Palestinian cause and the bilateral relations.
