Press release on Malaysia decision to deny Israeli athletes entry visas
Hamas hails Malaysian decision that it would never issue entry visas to Israeli athletes even if that resulted in cancelling the championship slated to be held on its soil.

On Malaysia’s decision to block entry to Israeli athletes participating in a swimming competition organised in the country, Hamas Movement states the following:
Hamas movement hails Malaysia’s decision that reflects the rigid stance of the country against all forms of normalising ties with the Israeli occupation.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad said in a decisive tone, “If the organisers want to withdraw the right to host from Malaysia, they can try to do so.” This statement indicates that Malaysia has an unwavering position that supports the Palestinian people's right to defend and liberate their occupied lands, especially the Holy City of Jerusalem.
Hamas lauds Malaysia for its stance and calls on all Arab and Islamic counties to halt normalisation with the Israeli occupation that is a stab in the back of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, normalising ties with the occupation leads to abolishing the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and peace.
