Commenting on the Israeli attempts to impose a new reality in Al-Aqsa Mosque and to proclaim sovereignty over the Muslims’ third shrine, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas states the following: 
The Israeli government’s attempts to remove  the Islamic identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque will bring horrific outcomes and the Israeli Occupation will pay a big price for desecrating Al-Aqsa’s sanctity.    
The Israeli police and the occupation’s Jerusalem Municipality  are attacking Al-Aqsa fiercely to seize sovereignty over the Islamic compound. 
Thus, Hamas hails Al-Aqsa Mosque's Palestinian guards for fulfilling their duty in defending and protecting the sacred compound.
Hamas calls for rising up in defence of Al-Aqsa Mosque against the ongoing break-ins by Israeli Occupation forces and settlers. 
We stress that the 144-dunum sacred compound belongs to the Muslims and the Palestinian people reject all bids to impose a new reality and to distort Al-Aqsa’s identity.
Hamas calls on the Jordanian Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs and all involved bodies to take a firm action to tackle the Israeli attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque, as it has a legal sovereignty over the sacred compound
