The Hamas Chief Ismael Hanyieh has phoned the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Russian Special Envoy to the Middle East and South Africa Mikhail Bogdanov.

Hanyieh and Bogdanov discussed the current political developments related to the Palestinian issue.

Both sides stressed that the Russian role in the area was critical for the whole region and the Palestinian issue particularly.

The Hamas leader praised Russia for its stances supporting the Palestinian people.

Hamas and Russia agreed to boost their bilateral relations and to continue their consultations and meetings on different issues related to Palestine.

The top Hamas leader reiterated that Hamas is keen to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation, hailing Russia’s endeavours to promote unity and end the Palestinian split.
