Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniya congratulated on Friday Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad on his country’s historic Asian Cup victory.

In a phone call, Haniya praised the efforts of Qatar players to secure such historic win, wishing the Gulf nation more sporting achievements.

Qatar claimed Friday its first major football title after beating Japan 3-1 in the Asian Cup final.
