On the massive participation in the 49th Friday of the Great Return March, spokesperson of Hamas Hazem Qasem stated the following:
The determination of the Palestinian masses to participate in the Great Return March reflects their iron will to achieve the march’s objectives and confirms that they would not reverse their decision about breaking the Israeli blockade through peaceful protests.
In addition, the massive participation in today’s protests named “Bab al-Rahma” shows support for and solidarity with the Palestinian guardians of al-Aqsa who defend the Arab and Palestinian identity of the holy site.
Few weeks before the first anniversary of the Great Return March’s inception, the Palestinian people prepare for a million-protester demonstration to put emphasis on the march’s objectives and on the creative peaceful means of resistance the Palestinian people invented to end the 12-year Israeli siege on Gaza and return to the hometowns and villages they were expelled from in 1948, as per the UN 194 Resolution.
