Hamas stated on Saturday it had told the Head of Palestinian Central Elections Commission Hanna Nasser that it accepted holding presidential and legislative elections under national unity government supervision.

in a press release, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa added that his movement suggested holding the National Council elections after the presidential and legislative elections. 

Al-Qanoa restated that Hamas is prepared to implement a 2011 Reconciliation Agreement with Fatah, adding that Hamas was open to all proposals that serve the Palestinian people.   

The Hamas spokesperson noted that his movement was waiting for a reply to its vision from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh met on Thursday a delegation from the Central Elections Commission, led by Hanna Nasser, in Gaza.

The delegation had arrived in Gaza on Wednesday for a two-day visit to discuss holding legislative elections with Hamas.
