Member of Hamas Political Bureau Suhail al-Hindi said on Monday that the Egyptian security delegation would arrive in Gaza in the few coming days carrying the Israeli Occupation’s reply to Hamas’ demands.
In a press release, al-Hindi added that Hamas would consider the Israeli Occupation’s reply to its conditions to reach a ceasefire agreement.
Hamas assured the Egyptian delegation that it would hold firm to several humanitarian demands, above all lifting the Israeli siege on Gaza, expanding fishing zone off the coastal enclave, solving the electricity crisis and the public servants issue, and alleviating poverty in the impoverished territory, al-Hindi continued.
Al-Hindi confirmed that the Great March of Return was launched on March 30, 2018, based on Palestinian national consensus and organised by a national committee involving Hamas.
The Palestinian people will abide by the ceasefire understandings once the Israeli Occupation adheres to Egypt-brokered understandings, the Hamas official explained.
Al-Hindi added that the Israeli Occupation always breaks its promises about reaching a ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian factions.
The Egyptian delegation visited Gaza twice last week and met with Palestinian officials, including Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh.
For several months, Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations have been brokering ceasefire talks between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli Occupation.
