On the ongoing Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip, Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum stated the following: 

The Israeli heavy bombardment on the Gaza Strip, targeting civilians, and shelling resistance facilities is a new crime added to the Israeli occupation’s criminal record against the Palestinian people. The occupation is held responsible for the ramifications of this escalation against the enclave.

Hamas stresses that the Palestinian resistance knows how to tackle the Israeli aggression; this is a national and moral responsibility the resistance would never abandon. In addition, the Palestinian resistance would never allow some Israeli leaders to exploit the Palestinian blood as a card to win more votes in the coming Israeli electoral race.
