On the first anniversary of the Great Return March, Hamas official Hasan Yusuf stated the following:

First: The Land Day is a national day for the Palestinian people. On March 30, the Palestinian people reiterate that they uphold their national constants, above all establishing the free Palestinians state and the right of return to the hometowns and villages from which the Palestinian people were forced out in 1948 by Zionist gangs. The Palestinian constants are never subjects to compromise nor concession.

Second: Hamas reiterates the same message of the Palestinian victims who were killed by the Israeli occupation forces in 1976 after the occupation authorities tried to expropriate thousands of dunums of their lands. The message of the Palestinian victims reads, “The Palestinian people would not allow the Israeli occupation to steal Palestinian lands under fake pretexts”. The Palestinians will restore their lands and freedom one day after ending the Israeli occupation.

Third: All the Palestinians wherever they reside are subjected to a fierce attack by the Israeli occupation and the United States, which provides absolute support for the occupation’s leaders. Hamas thinks that the US-sponsored illegal process of granting Arab and Palestinian lands to the occupation is an act of defiance against the whole world and violation to the international law.

Fourth: Partnership among all the Palestinian factions to manage national issues is an overwhelming need for the Palestinian people.

Fifth: The suffering endured by the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli jails has to prompt the Arab and Islamic nations and the free people of the world to act immediately in order to stop the violations committed by the Israeli occupation.

Sixth: Hamas calls on all the Palestinian people living in occupied Palestine or in the diaspora to participate in the One-Million Demonstration of Land and Return planned for March 30, 2019, to commemorate the first anniversary of the Great Return March and to demand the occupation lift the 12-year siege imposed in Gaza and implement the UN Resolution 194.
