Hamas would not accept the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza and would prevent this move even if it has to resort to armed resistance, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said Saturday.

In a press release, Qasem said that Hamas would never accept any solution at the expense of the Palestinians’ right to resist the occupation.

Qasem added that achieving national unity as per the deals signed by all Palestinian factions and forming a national unity government are Hamas' options to reorganize the Palestinian political system and reinforce the Palestinian people’s steadfastness in the face of the occupation.

Regarding the “Deal of Century”, Qasem confirmed that the US-drafted plan would never pass and no one can impose it on the Palestinian people, saying “The US administration has to understand that the Palestinian cause is sacred.”

Concerning the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire talks, Qasem said that his movement would not pay a price in return for a ceasefire agreement, adding that these understandings have no political dimensions and are not an alternative for Palestinian reconciliation and unity.
