As Fatah forms the Ishtayya-led government unilaterally, it resorts to unilateralism and monopoly of power. This move widens the Palestinian division at the expense of the Palestinian people’s interests.

The Fatah-formed separatist government lacks legal and constitutional legitimacy and it separates the Gaza Strip from the West Bank, which is a move in line with the “Deal of the Century.”

Hamas movement stresses that the enormous challenges posed to the Palestinian issue, including the “Deal of the Century”, should prompt Fatah to reverse such wrong moves through forming an inclusive national unity government that would serve all the Palestinian people and remove the oppression they have been enduring.

The national unity government, which should have been formed by Fatah, shoulders the responsibility of holding presidential, legislative, and national council elections. The Palestinian leaders and icons should be invited by this government to agree upon a national strategy to fight off all challenges.
