Commenting on the arrest campaigns and raiding homes by the Palestinian Authority-affiliated security forces in spite of the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Hamas movement states the following:

The PA insists to arrest Palestinians and raid their homes in the Holy Month of Ramadan. Indeed, the PA’s demeanor is against all national and moral values of the Palestinian people.

During the first ten days of Ramadan, the PA security forces have arrested more than 15 Palestinians across the West Bank, including freed detainees, students, and a girl. It should have honoured those persons, rather than stripping them of their dignity and depriving their families of celebrating and enjoying Ramadan.

Hamas calls on the PA to release all political prisoners immediately and stop political arrests which put many Palestinians to suffer enormously.

Finally, we urge legal and human rights organisations to fulfill their responsibility towards the Palestinian detainees held in the PA’s jails.
