The detention of Palestinian women for their political views by the Palestinian Authority security forces reflects the scale of the PA’s national degradation, Hamas spokesperson said.

In a tweet, Qasem called on all segments of the Palestinian people to unite and put an end to the PA’s abuse of the national situation.

Qasem’s remarks came following the arrest of 23-year-old teacher Alaa Bashir in a raid on a mosque in the occupied West Bank earlier this month.   

Human rights groups and activists called on the PA to release Bashir immediately and end political arrests in the occupied West Bank.
