Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya said that the Palestinian people would never give up the ceasefire understandings reached with the Israeli occupation “through their unity and strong determination to lift Gaza siege.”

While participating in the weekly Great Return March protests east of Gaza, al-Hayya added that the Palestinian factions were following up with the UN Special Coordinator Nicolay Mladenov and the Qatari and Egyptian mediators the implementation of the ceasefire understandings.

Al-Hayya explained that the Israeli occupation was trying to take advantage of any individual event to evade the ceasefire understandings, stressing that the Palestinian people would not pay a price for the internal Israeli conflict ahead of the forthcoming elections following Netanyahu’s failure to form a government.

Bahrain ‘workshop’ and US envoy’s remarks

Responding to US Ambassador David Freidman’s statements about the Israeli annexation of the occupied West Bank, al-Hayya stressed that the identity of the West Bank would remain Palestinian and would not be distorted by any comments whatsoever.

Al-Hayya praised the Palestinian participation in Friday’s popular, peaceful protests east of Gaza, dubbed (No to Annex the West Bank).

Regarding the Bahrain conference, al-Hayya said that the US-led conference is “born dead” citing the unified Palestinian position to reject it.

The senior Hamas official called on all states not to attend this “economic workshop” and to reject any decision targeting the Palestinian people and their just cause.

Al-Hayya reaffirmed that the “Deal of the Century” would not pass with its political component and that the Palestinian people would never get involved in its economic part.
