Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya called on the Palestinian people to go on a general strike on June 25 as a protest against the Bahrain conference and voice their rejection of its outcomes.
In a press release, al-Hayya added that Hamas along with the national and Islamic factions urged the Palestinian people to reject the US-led event with all means possible and activate the popular resistance across occupied Palestine.
“We also call on our people abroad and in the diaspora to hold and get engaged in popular and official activities at all levels to express their rejection to the Bahrain conference and normalisation with the Israeli occupation and face off the Deal of the Century,” al-Hayya continued.
The Hamas Deputy Chief in Gaza urged the international sides to boycott the conference, to be held in Manama, so that they would not be “complicit in the neglect of rights and constants of the Palestinian people.”
Hamas, in previous remarks, deplored the decision made by some Arab states to attend the Bahrain economic event, stressing that the Arab participation contradicted with the unified Palestinian position against this conference.
