Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh phoned Tuesday the wife of former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi.

During the phone call, the Hamas chief offered his condolences to Morsi’s wife and to the Egyptian people.

Haniyeh mentioned many of Morsi’s supportive stances towards Palestine and Jerusalem adopted when he was a parliamentarian or a president.

Particularly, the Hamas chief highlighted the president’s brave position during the Israeli offensive against Gaza in 2012 and his follow-up to stop the Israeli aggression.

“He also supported the Palestinian issue at the different international platforms,” Haniyeh added.
