Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya said that the Palestinian reconciliation process reached an impasse.
In a press release, al-Hayya reiterated his movement’s position about restructuring the Palestinian Home on the basis of partnership and consensus.
Al-Hayya called on the Palestinian Authority to “realise the seriousness of this stage” and step forward to achieve a true national unity based on political partnership and national consensus by enforcing ‘what has been agreed upon before’.
Regarding the ceasefire efforts, al-Hayya said that some understandings were being implemented every day, adding that Hamas along with Egypt, Qatar, and the United Nations was following up the enforcement of these understandings.
Al-Hayya noted that all Palestinian factions are determined to place pressure on the Israeli occupation through the Great Return March protests to adhere to the understandings.
Through their popular, peaceful demonstration, al-Hayya added, the Palestinian people will be able to face off all projects aimed at liquidating their cause.
The senior Hamas official reaffirmed that the Great Return March would continue until its goals are achieved.
Al-Hayya noted that the Palestinian people would continue their activities held to voice their rejection of the “Deal of the Century”, stressing that the Palestinians are capable of foiling all conspiracies targeting their cause.
