A Hamas delegation headed by Dr. Musa Abu Marzouq met Tuesday afternoon with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow.

Abu Marzouq briefed his Russian counterpart on the political developments of the Palestinian issue including the US-planned ‘Deal of the Century’, stressing that all segments of the Palestinian people reject the deal.

The Russian senior official, in turn, confirmed that Russia is interested in being up with the political developments in Palestine and the region.

He stressed that Russia supports the Palestinian rights and rejects the ‘Deal of the Century’, highlighting that their absence in the Bahrain workshop was a translation of the Russian position towards the deal.

The two sides discussed the possibility of restoring Palestinian national unity.

The Hamas delegation reiterated that Hamas is eager to achieve reconciliation through holding general elections, forming a unity government, and agreeing on a comprehensive national program.

Bogdanov said that national unity should be a priority for all the Palestinian factions, expressing his absolute rejection to ‘punitive policy’ adopted by PA President Abbas.

The Hamas delegation highlighted the difficult circumstances in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the diaspora.

They also explained the horrific outcomes of the Israeli siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
