Hamas mourned the death of former mayor of Nablusو, the West Bank , who passed away on Monday evening.

In a press release, Hamas hailed al-Shaka’a as a national figure who had always fought against the Israeli occupation and settlement expansion and defended the Palestinian national constants.

Highlighting his enormous contributions to serve his people and cause, Hamas noted that al-Shaka’a was one of the outstanding advocates for national unity until the last day of his life.
