Deputy head of Hamas Political Bureau Saleh al-Aruri called Monday evening on the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to hold an urgent conference on Jerusalem and normalisation with the Israeli occupation.

In a press release, al-Aruri said that the Israeli crime of demolishing 100 Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem proved that the Israeli occupation is racist and aggressive, noting that destroying a whole neighbourhood and displacing its residents amounted to an international crime.

Al-Aruri urged all Arab and Islamic nations to support the Palestinian people and their option to resist the occupation, highlighting the unlimited support announced by Iran to the Palestinian people and resistance.

Al-Aruri’s remarks came following the demolition of more than 100 Palestinian homes on Monday in Jerusalem’s Sur Baher neighbourhood by Israeli bulldozers escorted by hundreds of Israeli occupation forces.
