Thousands of Palestinians Friday afternoon participated in a massive march in support of Jerusalem’s intifada and the Aqsa Mosque in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The march, which was called for by the Hamas and Islamic Jihad Movements, urged Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem to continue their uprising against the occupation.

The movements called on the Palestinian Authority “PA” to refuse any schemes that aim to abort the intifada, calling for supporting the intifada politically.

Senior Hamas official Salah al-Bardawil stated in his speech that the Palestinian intifada would continue until the liberation of Palestine, stressing the need for being patient for its results.

Bardawil called on the Palestinian people to close ranks and join forces to confront the occupation.

"We need to fight on two fronts, resisting and deterring the occupation, and demonstrating Palestinian sufferings,” he said.

For his part, senior Islamic Jihad official Nafez Azzam urged the world to address the aggressor and not the victim, warning of international moves to undermine the intifada, and confirming that the Israeli occupation ignited the uprising with its arrogance and disregard for Palestinian rights and sanctities.

Azzam called on Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas to reconsider his positions, act in harmony with the popular mood, and renounce the Oslo accords.
