Hamas decried the UN’s failure to put the Israeli occupation of its “list of shame” for its violations against Palestinian children.

Citing the UN report that 2008 witnessed the highest number of Israeli violations against Palestinian children, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said that bowing to US and Israeli pressures gave the Israeli occupation forces a green light to commit more crimes against Palestinian children.

In a press release, Qasem called on the UN to criminalise the Israeli occupation in the international courts for its violations and crimes against the Palestinian people.

Qasem stressed that prosecuting the Israeli occupation in the international courts would foil any effort to shield it from accountability for its war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people.
