Member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran condemned Saturday evening the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ statements about Israeli soldiers held by the Palestinian resistance as “reprehensible.”
In a tweet, Badran pointed out that the UN chief’s remarks “violate the international treaties that give us the right to resist [the Israeli occupation] and defend our people.”
Badran wondered about the fate of thousands of Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons, including women, children, and administrative prisoners, noting that some of whom have been imprisoned for more than 30 years.
The senior Hamas official called for an immediate release to all Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
