The vision put forward by Palestinian faction to restore national unity goes in line with Egyptian efforts in this regard, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa said Tuesday.

“The factions’ initiative to accomplish national unity, which Hamas has accepted, supports the Egyptian effort and is no substitute for it,” al-Qanoa stressed in a press release.

Al-Qanoa reiterated that the national unity vision is based on previous agreements signed by Palestinian factions and is a “practical step” towards holding elections.

Eight Palestinian factions introduced a few days ago a national vision to end the intra-Palestinian division.

Hamas, in response, accepted the national initiative without any precondition or amendment on its articles.
