A delegation from Hamas met Thursday with Palestine ambassador to Lebanon Ashraf Daboor along with a number of Fatah officials in the Palestinian embassy in Beirut.

The delegation, headed by Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi, included deputy political chief of Hamas in Lebanon Jihad Taha and Hamas official in charge of Palestinian relations Mashoor Abdel Halim, alongside Ahmad al-Asadi, in charge of Hamas political affairs in northern Lebanon, and Ali Abu Qasem, in charge with Hamas political affairs in Beirut.

The meeting was attended by Fatah secretary general Fathi Abu al-Aradat, and Fatah secretary in Lebanon Hussein Fayyad, and member of Fatah Revolutionary Council Refaat Shanaa.

The delegations discussed the challenges and dangers facing the Palestinian cause, particularly the “deal of the century”, which is aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and the right to return.

Both sides discussed Israeli violations and daily raids on occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing that the Palestinian people are capable of foiling all plans intended to divide al-Aqsa Mosque timely and spatially.

During the meeting, both delegations discussed the developments related to the Palestinian situation in Lebanon at the political, security, and humanitarian levels, highlighting the necessity to improve and activate the joint action frameworks to handle the Palestinian issues in Lebanon.

The delegations talked about the pressures piled on UNRWA, the UN body helping Palestinian refugees, stressing that UNRWA should continue providing aid and services to the Palestinian refugees until they return to their homeland.

Regarding the Labour Ministry’s measures against Palestinian workers in Lebanon, both sides agreed to unify efforts in the face of this move until civil and humantarian rights are granted to Palestinian refugees in the country.
