Head of Hamas Media Division Abroad Raafat Morra denounced on Monday evening the Palestinian Authority’s decision to block dozens of Palestinian news websites as a “terror act.”

In a press release, Morra said that the PA’s move to shut down Palestinian news websites is a “crime against the freedom of expression and an assault on all Palestinian journalists and press freedoms.”

Morra pointed out that the PA’s ban came as an attempt to silence Palestinians and suppress journalism, adding that this measure “serves the Israeli occupation only.”

The Hamas official stressed that Palestinian voices would remain determined to preserve the Palestinian claim to their lands and right of resistance and defend the national constant and the Palestinian right of return.
