The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas slammed the announced Israeli plan to dig an underground barrier along Gaza borders.
Israeli war minister Moshe Yaalon said last night that his ministry would embark soon on building an underground barrier system along the border with the Gaza Strip.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said, in a press statement on Thursday, that the barrier intends to tighten occupation’s grip on the Gaza strip.
Abu Zuhri called on the international community to assume its role against such crimes and violations, confirming that all options are open to counter Israeli measures.
A Knesset committee had tabled the establishment of this barrier system in a recent meeting following growing complaints by Jewish communities living near Gaza border over Yaalon's failure to fulfill previous pledges in this regard.
